ALTAI TRI RACE is a triathlon competition held in the south of the Altai region (Russia) on August 27, 2017. There are two race options to choose from: ALTAI 3 RACE 113: 1.9 km swim + 90 km bike + 21.1 km run; it is the first "half-iron" race in Siberia! ALTAI 3 RACE SPRINT: 0,75 km swim + 20 km bike + 5 km run The swimming stage is held at an artificial lake (filled with water from the pure mountain river Katun). The biking stage follows on the beautiful highway winding along the Katun river. Finally, the running stage is the highlight of the entire competition because athletes run through the pass from which they can see the valley below. The finishing area (as well as the start and transition) is near the lake, and there are always plenty of people who will surely support the athletes as they run. The competition is held at the "Biryuzovaya Katun" touristic and recreational zone. It is an ideal venue for both training and leisure due to the combination of both good infrastructure and beautiful, untouched nature of Altai mountains. The zone is 30 minutes away from the Gorno-Altaisk airport (domestic), and 6 hrs away from the Novosibirsk airport (international connections).
